i would recommend that instead of carring a gun, you learn martial arts. You could absolutely destroy this guy if he ever attacked you again. Some of the toughest bouncers i worked with were girls that could seriously injure or mame most guys out there...

He grabbed me by the throat so hard his actual fingerprint was bruised into my throat, He slammed me against a cinder block wall, and precoded to punch me so hard and so many times in the face I was unconscious for 27 minutes. I was barely breathing, so they called 911. I woke up in the back of an ambulance frightened and didn't know what happened. I had to read the police report of the 3 students who witnessed the entire event, and the other 68 who watched in awe as he tried to beat me to death. I have nasal problems, and a divit in my nose and between my eyes above my nose from him fracturing my face.
Now, He was charged with Attempted Murder, He pleaded out to Aggervated Battery. 1 year jail, and 4 years probation, an injunction he could not be within 1000 feet of me for the length of his probation. He got off probation in Sept. 04, 6 months sooner than he was suppose to, and i didn't get notification. He's been coming around me, following me, I went to get my hair done at the mall and there he was "I love you, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to"
I'm just about 21 years old, I'm a lot fckin smarter than I was at 15. So you see, a lot of girls can't leave their abusive boyfriends, the boyfriends just may kill them.
My heart goes out to any girl who has to endure this kind of abuse, and I would do ANYTHING for ANY lady on this board, regardless of location, who was involved in an abusive relationship. If she wanted to get away from him- far away, I would offer my home to them so they could get back on their feet.

martial arts are good... IF he doesn't get the first hit in. It's hard to recover from that... almost impossible really.
Get the gun and get trained with it... go to a shooting range and become very familiar with it. In most cases though... a cop told me that the weapon a woman uses usually gets used against her by her attacker...
I agree with the money idea... There are better places out there and there is just too much red tape to get through to get this guy off the streets.
