why do you smoke?
It's funny how this thread turned up at a time in my life where QUITING has been on my mind. I smoke about 10-15 a day and I'm a habit smoker. You can set a clock by my cravings at 8AM, 10, 11:30, 12:30, 2, and 3 PM. I've quit for a 3-month period once but once my life got down in a slump I lit up again. My wife (non-smoker) married me because she loves me but she has really started to step up on the "NO more smoking Wagon"
I tell my wife this and I'll tell all you non-smokers this.... YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT'S LIKE TRYING TO QUIT! If you want to know what it's like? Take 3 midgets and stick them inside your body. Now, every 2 hours these three midgets break out of their cell and the go to your heart, brain and nero-muscular system (spelling). One takes a ice pick and stabs your heart and begins to twist and turn. The other covers your brain with a cloud, like you just woke up, and don't know what's going on. The third makes your hands shake and your body sweat. OK, these are typical withdraw symptoms but here is the catch!
There are drug programs out there that lock you up in a padded room for a month to clean you up from major narcotics. None for smokers! Even if there was a program as soon as you get out your faced with advertisements and other who smoke in public, whereas major narcotics need to be sought out and not readily available at a gas station.
I don't know where I'm going with this!
I got to go outside!

A clove cigarette is basically a regular cigarette with, well, clove spice in it. (I guess - those lying bastards could be putting anything in there.) Yeah, the same stuff in spiced cider, hams, that sort of thing. They have a very distinct nice smell to them, and they leave a very sweet taste on the lips. I've heard that they're worse for you than regular cigarettes, but don't know what to believe.

Of course if you aren't inhaling and you are just blowing smoke rings then it really shouldn't matter...
A quick technicality - cloves come in both filtered and unfiltered versions, most I see are actually filtered. I have zero clue as to nicotine, tar, etc. content and the like.
One person I knew said they have bits of fiberglass in them designed to nick your lungs so the stuff has quicker access to your bloodstream. Of course, that same person also maintained that Russia has had a cancer cure for several decades now, but it's been suppressed. Go figure.
