Depends on your boss and the type of business you guys are in. My ex-boss and I used to go for "liquid lunches" all the time. It's just what you are used to.

Does it count if we want Wantone's brain surgeon to have a few beers before his operation?

j/k dude.

I have ordered a beer at lunch, but either when the boss is not around, or when he orders one first.

BTW -- I am not a brain surgeon.

If lunch doesn't make you sleepy enough. The first hour or so after lunch is so unproductive. I can't imagine downing a cold frosty smooth one...ummmmmmmmm bear.

Maybe he thought you were a Mormon.

He got one too, so he couldn't have dissaproved too much.

that sleepy feeling right after lunch hits me pretty bad so no beer here. Matter of fact I try to eat light protein filled lunches (grilled chicken salads, small steak...etc) just for that reason. I am with customers quite a bit so beer is usually ordered by someone at the table.

If you work for big corp though (like me) you need to fill out detailed exp reports and some restaraunts detail the bill into food and bar. I've had much explaining to do in the past.

I work for a corporation, if I ordered a beer at lunch and then proceeded to go back to work I would be fired!
