Tim
Thanks Tim.

We've had nothing but bad luck with our cars. It wasn't but a 3-4 months ago when some POS broke into the garage at our old condo and keyed my S.

to thieves

nice security system you have though, and i guess it did pay off (at least you didn't lose any of the audio equipment)

any way they could install a small video camera that comes on if the alarm is activated? that way, if the thief (thieves) come back ...

Good suggestion...I'll look into that.

...and perhaps tear gas that deploys with the alarm to render would-be POS's incapacitated? That should be standard with every alarm. People who mess with other people's cars are only a few cells above pond scum in my book.

If I caught someone trying to break into the S, I'd castrate him on the spot, and would tell him not to call the cops, or else he'd be going to jail.

if you can afford an s2000 or you can afford to spend $$$ modifying a car, then you should have a garage to keep it in...plain and simple. At least the car had a good alarm though, something similar happened to my accord, except the theif didnt damage anything. Good luck with the repairs.

Guess you missed the point about it being in a garage. We live in a condo and have an underground parking garage. There are plenty of vettes, BMWs, Mercedes, Audis, etc. in the garage so it isn't like there is a bunch of junky cars here.

No surveillance cameras...but ONE roaming security guard for about 5 buildings worth of cars.

Surveillance cameras would be the biggest deterance, but the HOA doesn't want to foot the bill.
