wow. nice alarm system and battery relocation!

however, (and i'm not being sarcastic or a jackass) you have to wonder, if you didn't have an alarm, and just let the guy steal the stuff, all of that damage wouldn't have happened. or at least to the extent that it did.

but if you had thousands worth of stuff to protect, i guess a couple thousand in damage isn't too bad.

Update: car has been towed to the stereo shop I used. They said the damaged wasn't too bad. The "light" wiring harness needs to be replaced. The various power wires that were cut will need to be replaced, but luckily the main power wire that goes back to the trunk wasn't cut. The insurance adjuster is supposed to go there this afternoon to write-up an estimate.

While the Civic is in the shop I am going to have them install this hood luck, which is basically a steel wire with one end wrapped around the hood latch and the other inside the "cabin" with a lock on it. With it locked, it is all but impossible to open the hood. I will probably have this same device installed on my S2000.

There is about $5000 worth of stereo stuff, so yes the car needs a top-notch alarm.

I'd prefer not to get into specifics, but I have a Clifford system with some bells and whistles.

Sounds like a step in the right direction.

I'll tell you via PM...but I am paranoid about giving the specs in the "open".

A look on the bright side... just another opportunity to bring it to your stereo shop just to make it harder for the POS thieves to steal your wife's car.
