I am sickened and stunned. One of my best friends from high school lives in Manhattan and works nearby. My point to posting this is not to draw attention to myself, but to point out that this tragedy touches EVERY American citizen in one way or another.

Additionally, if this country goes to war, nuclear force will be used. Coming and going. It's not the same kind of war that it used to be.

This is OKC on a grander scale. Everyone in Oklahoma City knew someone that died in that explosion. My aunt's assistant's two kids were in the day care center. She worked at Kerr McGee down the street. My mother (unhurt) was two building down and helped in the evacuation immediately after. I think everyone is going to know someone that died in this one.

 

war is an ultimatum, we cannot assume that if we go to war that we will use nuclear weapons, if we do go to war most likely air strikes will be used along with cruise missiles, nuclear weapons would be a trump card not to be used unless absolutely necessary

 

I was actually heading into work when I saw everything unfold from my bus window. Thank GOD i was running late today... I can not beleive something like this can happen. BOTH Towers are GONE it is feared that THOUSANDS of people have been killed (each tower holds 20,000 at full capacity). They have closed off all entry into NYC (Lincoln and Holland tunnels, the GWB, Tappan Zee, etc.).

I am so infuriated right now, especially after they showed Palestinians in the Gaza strip celebrate and throwing out candy.

This is just unreal......

I would hope nuclear power would not be used...in the persian gulf no nuclear power was used and I'm sure sadaam could of gotten it.

regardless quite an ugly day - this will impact everyone. I cannot belive the news showing the palistein(sp) celebrating americas weakness. This is not an american weakness, this is a human weakness.

 

I think sumir is right that nuclear war will be avoided at costs.

Soon we'll hear from Pres. Bush, and its critical to see his reaction, because that reaction will be transformed into the emtions of anyone in the US.

Right now, everyone seems to be taking care of each other, especially in NYC. we can still do the same, and have the same outlook on people. I sincerely hope this does not change in the next few hours.
