I guess its all rumours now, But didn't the third plane hit near the base of one of the towers?
also the plane crash in PA. is on the news now, no word wether it was shot down but that woul dbe my guess.
Also when you watch the footage of the one tower colapsing, it goes floor by floor. Once a few top floors go, there is a huge anount of momentum, similar the pendualm efect.
also, I'm not engineer either, but I'm almost positive that buliding over a certain height have to be able to sustain a plane impact.

Friends,
America lost THOUSANDS of people today. My prayers are with them and their friends & families. I hope everyone on this board isn't involved in any way, shape or form in this.

You are correct on the momentum issue. The building is built to stay erect, not withstand the falling debris above it, it's like the proverbial house of cards, once it starts.
There was no third plane that I have heard.

Perhaps the 3rd plane you heard about was the one that hit the Pentagon. And there was a 4th that crashed in southern Penn. that was apparently heading for Camp David.

On a more positive note, my brother, who works in Rockefeller Plaza and could see the burning buildings from his office, has emailed me confirming that he's okay. Same with a cousin, his wife, and a college friend of mine who all live and work in Manhatten. Whew.

UK here - we have been through - still have terrorism - not on this scale - but the loss of innocents is an individual thing - no matter what the scale.
We feel for you and there are no words to express the emotions we have.
Do not understand the motivation - at all.
Nor do I understand the Palestinian cheering - that is sickening.
The only thing to do is to carry on.
But never, never indulge in 'peace' talks with terrorists - or those who control them.

I just thought I'd mention that there's a lot of speculation and rumors flying here, but http://www.Cnn.com has been doing a great job of covering this....tragedy. New info is being added constantly.

It's all speculation now, but I doubt that there were secondary charges.

Sure, they are(were) very large buildings but a commercial airliner ramming it with all its weight and momentum will cause a very considerable damage. Not to mention this 'projectile' contained a fuel....and a very flammable one at that. Jet fuel!

Some things you just cannot plan/engineer for.......
