Absolutely abhorrent.
I know I'm speaking with extreme emotion and anger right now, but I can't see how we can let this one go. We've got to take some extreme action on this one. I don't think you can call this a terrorist attack. This is the best planned and strategic manueveur I've ever seen performed against the US on our own soil. Pure and simple, it's an act of war.
And, as a Lockheed employee at Missiles and Fire Control in Orlando, FL, I have no problem putting in plenty of overtime if it means I can make a difference getting some justice for all of this.

I haven't heard any mention of this so far: It strikes me as very unlikely/impossible that the impact of even a large plane with one of the WTC towers would cause the whole thing to collapse. Straight down, no less. I mean have you looked at where the planes hit? They're way up at the top. The mass of a building that large is just monstrous compared to a 767. I have a sneaking suspicion that there might have been secondary charges planted at the base of the towers.
Next, God help whoever organized this atrocity, b/c George W. will now have carte blanche to go after every damn terrorist organization on the planet. Forget this nonsense about extradition...those guys need to be worried about a GPS guided bomb coming through their window. Nobody will be stupid enough to take outright credit for the attacks b/c that would be tantamount to suicide, and hopefully this was not the work of a foreign government b/c the retaliation would cause harm to civilians who were not involved. I'll rant more later...I absolutely cannot believe all this has happened....

Tedow, you were thinking the exact same thing that I was thinking. In watching the buildings collapse over and over now, I don't understand how they can just fall upon themselves like that. I watch building demolition on various cable shows and this looks just like that - where there is a controlled explosion(s) to sever the main supports of the building and let gravity do the rest. It seems that an impact at the top would topple the building, if anything.
Does anyone recall the story of when the Empire State building was struck by a, admittedly, much smaller plane shoftly after its completion and the people 3-4-5 stories on either side of it never knew that it had happened, nor did it compromise the integrity of the structure...(it is even by today's standards an extremely strong building)
But I think there is something more to this...obviously many more details will be known in the coming days, weeks and months...
