I heard it on the radio this morning on my way to work. I usually dial into the news station to check the traffic, but as I began listening I realized that something serious had happened.

I had trouble concetrating at work all day. I believe that I am still in a state of half shock half disbelief. Part of me wants to pretend like this is just another piece of sad news like we hear everyday in the news (I guess its denial) and just move on, yet, another part of me continues to picture those dying and those during their last minutes of life and imagining what it must have been like to have been there. Then reality sets in and I am forced to face that fact that thousands of innocent lives were lost today.

You watch that footage of the plane going into the building and no matter how many times you watch it, you just can't believe it. Its almost too horrific to believe that its real. I mean, the only times you see this kind of stuff is in action movies. You almost don't want to believe it.

I believe that none of us that have witnessed this will ever be the same again. This country will never be the same again. As I watched the news unfold, I was reminded to other devastating instances which I have had to witenss during my lifetime: Pan Am bombing, Shuttle Challenger tragedy, Oklahoma City bombing, countless air accidents, etc., etc. How discouraging and depressing it all is.

Thats the one thing that will probably keep this from becoming WWIII... the fact that with the exception of a few little countries, terrorism is the common enemy, and without a super power backing these small countries, a "World" war can not occur.

however, this is kinda freaky: if you add up the numbers from the flightes, they all add up to the dates for the rest of the week: the 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th

Maybe you will get crackpots on every day, but how often will they put the DATE of an incident in as the title before it happens?!?!?!?!?!?!

The way I see it there is perfect reasoning in looking towards Osama Bin Laden for the cause of this. Whenever there are rumors circulating for 3 weeks that a massive attack against the US is going to occur then that's a pretty good hint. It doesn't help him to have the history that he has as well, with fingers pointing towards him for the US Embassy bombings in 1998, and they are saying that we have stopped several attacks from him this summer. What's the solution? It's not up to me to decide, but if someone gave me a weapon and said I had the chance to put it to the terrorist's head, I'd pull the trigger in a heartbeat.

I give major props to the rescue teams that participated, and I mourn for the people that lost their lives yesterday, it is a very sad event.

I just found out that my brother made it out OK, he was working a few blocks away from the Trade Centers. Lets keep everyone who wasn't that lucky in our thoughts and prayers.
