Worst car ever!
I was reading the post on the the MT car of the year and as it digressed to the worst car of all time, I thought I'd see what other folks thought on this.
One year MT picked the Renault Alliance as the car of the year. This Le Car derivative didn't last as long as the magazine on the store shelf. Of course there are the all time favorites the Gremlin and the Pacer. American Motors contribution to the silly and laughable. And of course let's not forget the Yugo. A Fiat by any other name.
My personal favorite is the Cosworth Vega. Very cool, very fast engine, but they always seemed to lose parts when driven.
Curious to see your answers

The worst car ever has to be the Daihatsu Charade. Why did Daihatsu think there was a market for a three-cylinder, when even today gas prices here can justify a Ford Excursion beast, is beyond my comprehension.
My favorite line regarding a Yugo is, "At least it had heated rear windows--so your hands would stay warm while you pushed."

My contribution: Chevy Vega. Couldn't drive it a week without something breaking down.
By the way...I had a Gremlin. Couldn't break the thing. Sold it at 175,000 miles and still started right up.

there is also the Covair it was bad enough that Ralph Nader wrote a book about it called Unsafe at any speed.
I remember driving one and once I got it above 80 you could feel the front wheels lift off the ground.
chalk up another one for the bowtie boys.

I sold cars a few years ago (no flames, please) and we were offered a Yugo as a trade-in. My used car manager had zero interest in the car. He said it was worth around $12.00 if the gas tank was full. Needless to say, we didn't trade for it.
