Believe it or not that is a camera mans job, I don't agree with it just an opinion. If you see the van towards the end of the clip and you see the lines painted you will see that it is a double yellow w/ a white inside, That is Carpool lane as BPOSELEY pointed out, I knew them as an HOV lane and you can even see a HOV sign on the pole up ahead. I have seen them before like that where you can only use them at certain times during heavy traffic - Maybe the van parked (broke down)on what he thought was the shoulder earlier. From the tire squeals I don't think the ground was wet - I could be wrong though! What I saw there was alot of people not paying attention to the road - The camera crew was definately a distraction and I am wondering if the cones caused some of the confusion as to what lanes were really open!

 

Morons. The vans electrical system had better been broken down to not have the hazzards on. Other than that everyone that hit everyone is a moron. The mustang should have stopped, even with the hazard lights that van had reflectors and could clearly be seen with the lights from the camera on it. My guess is that van is the camera crews van and it broke down so the guys got the fvck out of the van and ran over to the side of the road . Then some ass nearly creamed into the van and then another so the camera man films how dumb people are. mustang hits then some foul nearly misses the van which is now in pieces and just beyond the smashed mustang lights aglow and side swipes another car then spins it 180. then everyone and there brother traveling in a wolf pack slams on there breaks with a few hiting the mustang and the van. Hum a sea of red break lights but i'm gonna keep going. Don't follow closely and if something immovable is in the road LISTEN UP PEOPLE I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH, STOP BEFORE YOU HIT IT.

All in all, as sick as it is i think someone parked that van there and setup camera crew... who would sit there and film a random van trying to capture a wreck like that?? Otherwise its just a random camera crew with a random van and they just somehow filmed every single part of the wreck..? Doesnt flow with me...

I have no idea what happened there. I watched the video 10 times, and I'm still trying to figure out why that van was stopped in the middle of the road. That was one gigantic clusterf*ck. I think the Mustang definetly took the brunt of the accident, as it got nailed hard from in front and behind. I love the sound of everyone slamming the brakes!

That could ONLY happen in LA. I can guarantee anyone you will never see a video like that outside of So. Cal

 

The owner of that van should go to jail. A dark colour with no hazards on!!

Anything could have happened for that Mustang not to see it. There could have been a car in front of the 'stang that swerved at the last minute and then the 'stang would have had no chance.

I've seen some pretty nasty stuff happen on our freeways (Australia) and we have no where near the level of traffice you guys do.

 

WHAT!? If the van was broken down and the hazards stopped working (dead battery) or even if it just was broken down he has no liability. When your driving your car you have to be in control of it. You have to keep from hitting things not things have to not be there. What kind of crazy thought is that? He should have had the hazards on but if it was an electrical failure? Either way the mustange should have just NOT hit the van. In general its a good idea to not hit objects with your car.

Wow, I dont think I have ever seen so many idiots all in one video. I don't think the mustang was even on the brakes, there is no tire squeal or anything leading up to the point of impact with the van. The people that wrecked afterward are equally retarded imo, because for one thing there's cones all over the road, there's smoke billowing out of something up ahead, there's cars sideways in the road, pieces of cars all over the place...hello... SLOW THE F DOWN. If you can't tell that a car in front of you is stopped in time to slow down enough to avoid hitting it, you're going too damned fast, not paying enough attention, or both.
