If anything deer meat is more like beef, just more gamey.

 

I had some deer stew.. tasted like bbq chicken. some deer chili.. I guess tasted like beef aka regular chili.

Oh yeah. The smell, (I have been told) is one of the nastiest you will find.



My family has a gag gift exchange at christmas every year and one my historical fav's was a bottle of racoon urine. Now there is a small business idea that would never occur to me.

Have I gutted a deer?... yes. Am I a redneck?..... No. Do I hunt?. No, not any more. I did when I was younger with my father before he died, mainly because it was the only time we got to spend together; I wasn't a hunting fan myself.

Doe urine.... you put that out to attrack the deer.... or you throw it on freshman on thier first day of high school.... either one...

 

I am a meat eater and love the taste of dead animals. But I always used to tell the "hunters" I worked with to kill it with your bare hands...THEN I'll be impressed. With guns, bows, the front ends of your trucks, etc., the game is clearly at a disadvantage. But like I said, meat tastes good.

 

I don't see an issue with killing an animal like a deer as long as you eat it and dont just kill it as a trophy. Killing a deer and gutting it is in no way a problem for me.

As played out as it sounds, deer are extremely overpopulated in many areas and have almost no natural predators. Hunting helps to thin the population a little bit and is somewhat of a necessity... Plus its fun and its a good getaway for a few hours.

I'm not from Alabama so don't even start with the stereotypes.
