Would you go to London for just a weekend?
Cincinnati sucks. It is boring and cold and snowy and boring here. I spend a lot of my free time looking on Expedia for cool vacations, and I decided to go to London. However, I am really busy during the week, and I dont have any vacation time anytime soon, so I am just going to go for a weekend (thurs-mon). Do you think this is stupid? Can I even see any of the sites? Is this a waste of time? Or is it the perfect amount of time to spend there so that I don't stay so long that I get bored of the place? Either way, I figured $350 for the entire trip was pretty hard to beat...
Oh, and let me know if you have any suggestions on what to do there, especially recommendations for pubs and restaurants.

Did it over the Thanksgiving weekend and had loads of fun. I'm also planning to go in May for 2-3 days to see one of the Queen concerts (probably their last tour ever).
As to what there is to see, trust me, you'll be overwhelmed. 2-3 days is not nearly enough to see everything there. However, since you don't have much time, I suggest to take the Big Bus sightseeing tour (http://www.bigbus.co.uk/). It is really convenient as your ticket will be good for 24 hours and the buses work just like regular public transportation (you can get on and off at different locations). I also suggest taking a ride on the London Eye (http://www.ba-londoneye.com). It is a huge observation wheel and would be a lot of fun after you learn the famous landmarks from the Big Bus tour. But in any case, don't stress yourself too much and just try to enjoy your time. You can have just as much fun by just walking through the city.

Go for it, I've been thinking about doing something crazy like that too.
Come on- how can you pass up an entire trip for $350?
Is that a regular price or do you have a relative in the airline industry? For that price I'd say hell yeah but from Australia its more like $1500AUD which would make a weekend trip alot more extravagant

I've done it a couple of times ... Virgin / Continental used to run $99 ($198/rt) fares for a few years running.
Make sure you figure in cost of hotel / food / booze. $350 all-in seems a bit low. London is an expensive city and the strength of the Pound will make it very expensive.
You will have plenty of time to see the sights. The Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, House of Commons, the Cabinet War Rooms and Churchill museum, Tate Gallery . . .
You could try one of these walks (http://london.walks.com/). When I lived in London, I took a number of them and they were always interesting.
