Would you recommend getting married?

I still don't see any good argument for getting married beyond "Well, everybody else is doing it."
How, pray tell, would it actually make people happier?

So you're asking, if one were living with someone they were very in love with, how would it make them happier to be legally married, rather than just continuing on like they were? If that's your question, I'd say it wouldn't.
But if you're asking why someone would be happier married than they would if they just dated around but stayed "unattached" (legally AND emotionally) their whole life... I'd think the reason would be obvous.

Marriage generally stinks. You need someone to wittness your life so that when you both die no one left really knows a damn about who you were.
