Default wrapping pool table in carbon fiber

Hey guys I got a question for you carbon fiber guys. I have a pool table that needs the bumpers and felt replaced. Its a 1 piece slate table so Im going to have to take the thing apart to replace everything. So since its got to come apart I was thinking about wrapping the wood pieces in carbon fiber, leaving the metal rims around the cups and metal studs. So heres my questions for you guys:

The wood is actually the wood lamanent stuff. Will something like 3m carbon fiber wrap stick on the lamanent if I scuff it up and use a spray adhesive?

My second question is there are a few spots where the lamanent has been chipped off and the mdf is exposed. If I use some type of putty and sand it down to smooth it out will the carbon fiber wrap stick?

Thanks guys and let me know if yall think its a cool idea. I will be sure to post pics if I think I can make it happen.

I dont think the 3M stuff likes "textured" surfaces. it actually love smoother stuff from my experience.

Im thinking I can sand the laminate with a high grit sand paper to make it smooth. I contacted a 3m dealer and he said that it needs a smooth surface.

Put a coat of lacquer on the laminate to make it smooth.
