Didnt the first Xbox have problems too? There seems to be a history pattern of flaws with Xbox. I may pass on this even though family has bought it for us already. I am going to stick with the PS3..
beanolo is right, buying the first batch has a risk, but it is the first one. Same with cars i guess. The machine is still awesome. Developers havent had the time to find out how to use it to its full potential. Give it a year then youll see some shit.
Like I said mine works fine, as do BOTH of my brother' consoles. Thefew problems that exist are pushed and flamed by PS3 fanboy hype, and people who couldnt afford one, or werent able to get one at launch.
Most of the few real problems I have seen are heat related, or caused by improper cable seating.
But even if some do have problems, EVERY console I have EVER owned save the N64 has had problems.
Anyone over 25 HAS to remember blowing in to cartridges and reseating them constantly.
So as far as the jealous Microsoft haters club goes, I say go ahead and wait a year or two for the PS3, and it had best be DAMNED good when it comes out, because after my friends and I played on my XBOX against my brothers online last night, I can tell you the XBOX 360 kicks a lot of ass in so many ways.

Once you get old enough, the money for these is not the issue. You get the system that has games that make you want it. I haven't seen that from the 360 yet, and I'll hold the PS3 to the same standard. No cheerleading here.

A video card for my PC is like $500 alone
Can't wait till the physics cards come out for Unreal 2k7!!
It's not a matter of being a fanboy or not, or not affording shit, you're on an s2k board where a simple maintenance could cost more than this game console.. come on now

It's the fact that the xbox has problems.. and they released it early for xmas in limited supply to iron those out
Sure it may be like 1 in every 1000, but its still a problem. I bought my ps2 on launch day as well.. and lots of ppl reported problems shortly after, but i havent had a problem for almost 4 years until my house got robbed
I learned from buying systems at launch that the games are jus a taste of things to come... games in like 1-2 years from now on the system are gonna be like 10x better because developers will know how to develop for it.. but until then.. im not in a rush

And yes.. bottom line is the games. I dont care how nice the graphics are, PC > owns all that..
but yea.. games matter the most
I should hope everyone HERE could afford an XBOX360...
I meant a lot of people who are spreading the rumors of defective XBOXes cant afford it, so they just knock it every chance they get.
Just had a 4 hour romp with my brothers and friend, and neither of our boxes had a glitch.
Heat related problems are not Microsofts problems ifthe user doesnt follow instructions or use common sense and provide ventilation. This isnt a 30Mhz Machine, and it WILL generate heat. If you took all the fans out of your computer and stuck it inside an entertainment center it would crash too...
