Anyone know if you can preorder the PS3 yet? And if so, where?

If you preorder at a place like Best Buy or Circuit City do you get your console before all of those crazy people that line up at 3pm the day before they go on sale?

I don't think BB or CC would do pre-orders, otherwise you wouldn't see any lines...

You COULD pre-order at a video game store at some point BUTTTTTT, you can see that in the case of the XBOX 360, pre-orders don't always all get filled... Camping for 8 hours is probably still the best technique for the average joe...

Most of us can and I agree 100% with Beanolo! I smashed 3 or 4 PS2 systems over the past 2 years because they are inexpensive to replace and I wasnt that great at some of the games. Then I get up and go buy a new one.. My wife actually has pictures of me throwing one PS2 out of a 3 story window and then going to the street with my bat and smashing it. Another one I jumped up and down on in the garage then took it by the cord and spun it around and into a 6ft high brick wall. I know I had some issues (and still have some ) but I always, always blame the game (the opposing team is ALWAYS CHEATING, right?).
Thats it dude, you can't come over any more. At least I don't have a 3rd story window you can throw it out.

Since all three of you guys (jasonw, jsap1, beanolo), don't have one, stop with the hate.

I played mine for about 8-9 hours over the last two days, and I haven't had a single problem with it, but mine doesn't sit in an enclosed box either. While the HDTV resolution is pretty sweet, the smoke and lighting effects are what impress me most about the graphics. I think however the best improvement so far is the AI. The bad guys in Call of Duty 2 are pretty smart.

overheating is definitely a MS issue, no matter which supplier's fault it is. it's their product, and when a customer points their finger at someone to blame for that problem, it will be MS. i don't think you can blame people either...when you sell something for that much (or at any price, i suppose), you have to idiot-proof it as much as you can. when 14% of people's xboxes keep crashing, what's MS gonna say..."it's your fault, deal with it"? even if it is the consumer's fault, people without the system are going to hear and think that the new xboxes are prone to crashing a lot. and they'll think twice about buying the system. etc, etc.

anyway, i'm sure MS will deal with the problem if there is one. if they take back the systems, i'm sure they will demand an answer from whichever supplier messed up, and they'll probably charge them to recover as much of the cost as they can.

haha. so...for anyone w/the system, how're you likin it? screenshots look amazing...
