This year sure feels like my yakudoshi year...
i've always thought i would have my yakudoshi later on, but with recent events...well, maybe this year is my yakudoshi.
if you want to know what yakudoshi means:

basically it means i'm f***ed this year...

You know, my mother was from Japan, and I never really knew what yakudoshi was. Growing up in Hawaii, I always though it was a celebration on your 40 something birthday. After reading the link, now I know! So I guess the celebration part is supposed to ward off the bad luck? Man, I really need to get in touch with my culture...
From the chart, it appears that from the time you're 18 until you're 43, you're pretty much screwed (talking about men). 17 of the 25 years are at least a minor Yakudoshi.
No offense, but this seems like a good ancient religion - a despot/king could be "enlightened" to this, and the Yakudoshi would be used to repress the men until they're too old to be a threat ("Your Yakudoshi year is soon, young man, lest you offend the gods by attempting to dethrone your god-chosen leader!").
Anyway, good luck Ming!
