Default You Hate WRXs? Hate This Then ...

Yes folks, once again our fellow friends at STi have been busy working on a new model lineup toppling the leader Evolution VII of the current JDM Turbo 4WD market dominated naturally either by the STi's or the Evolution's. Presenting the all new JDM Subaru WRX STi Type RA Spec C! Wow, what a long name but nevertheless it's all to impress it's buyers, haters or whatever category you might fall into.

Basically a stripped down version of the already almighty GD8 WRX STi Sedan, and has toppled time trials and speed records held by the previous #1 Evolution VII set at a few tracks in Japan of course. Some of the basic highlights - Increased front chassis strengthening has took away the GD8's understeering characteristics, increased horsepower (JDM government BS writeup just to make the officials happy), more torque as usual, reduced weight which has been one of the major points losing the JDM headlights with HIDs which welcome the export model headlights and creature comforts, customized central differential 50/50 from factory but can be changed with a push of a button inside the cabin, and BBS wheels with all new RE070s developed rubber specially for this model has proved to be a killer.

Not to worry nevertheless, everything is JDM and will be likely only to leave the country by grey importers. UK seems like the most dominating market to be able to get these rockets in with no difficulties. Only comes in the color white and no creature comforts added, purely a race-spec ready machine built, researched and developed to do one thing ... Improve track times and speed records with a potentially good driver. Of course, this is just my summary ... Visit Subaru.co.jp for your translation needs in detailed.

I still hate the headlights, but man...what a Corvette killer/Viper killer. These things in stock trim kill (JSPEC) in these versions they are all but unbeatable. Thanks for the pix, makes me do this------------------->

How much HP does this have?

The EVO VII is supposed to have about 330 hp.

Fact is, not any country will ever see - WRX STi Type RA Spec C ... under an official import by Subaru, maybe a grey import is possible though. Power output is approximately 310hp if I'm not wrong, and it certainly beats the Evolution VII RS's records around a few Japan tracks including Tsukaba, Suzuka, Twin Ring Montegi etc. Torque is the big player here with low to mid range substantial power increases. While I seriously don't think the Evolution VII RS is 330hp from factory.

The WRX may be ugly but it's a hell of a fun car.

The old Scooby's weren't ugly, it's just the new ones. What they seriously need to work on is the car itself, it's still a cheap econobox made hella fast.
