Subaru needs to hire a designer that's not high on crack. If only they would replace that body with one with some sense of proportion and style. Clearly an afterthought. Too bad, mechanically it's sweet but with a face only a mother could love I won't be getting one.

absolutely hillarious.
someone mentioned to me awhile back though that a 2 door version was somewhere in the horizon. maybe they through that idea out the window.
does anyone know is they change the brake or suspension set up? one thing that striked me as odd was that they carried everything over from the 2.5 rs to the US spec wrx. i think the jdm spec has bigger brakes but the US one doesnt. still is a blast to drive though. especially through the dirt.

Forgot to mention that Prodrive has been hired by Subaru to restyle the current WRX. The basic body will remain the same, but the entire front clip, rear trunk and bumper is up for restyling. The car should look a lot better and a lot more aggressive once they are done with it.

Picture tells the rest I didn't mention, indeed ... Thinner glass has been used, no air condition, no power windows, no power mirrors, no sound system, no rear seats blah blah blah.

While I seriously don't think the Evolution VII RS is 330hp from factory.

Are you sure?.. I saw two of the Best Motoring videos.. they raced on the track bunch of cars along with
WRX STi, WRX STi Type RA, EVO7 GSR, EVO7 RS... EVO7 RS kick the crap out of the WRX's... EVO was
leading the whole time (even in front of the Skyline VspecII and NSX Type S Zero) and WRXs are
the last two in both videos..

They also dragged these cars... EVO7 RS was the fastest in the 400meters... doing about 12.9 beating
even the NSX Type S Zero...

Here's my post at the lancerforums...

S2kRob,

Did you see the same videos I did?..

Do tell me when you see the video JT-KGY, it's a Spec C RA STi, not just a simple RA version. Fact, I would still choose any STis over any Evolutions.

The video is probably a simple RA?? I'm really not sure... I'll check with the video again tonight..
Do you mind elaborate more on the reason why you would pick STIs over EVOs?? I've seen many
many races on BM videos with STI (current gen and previous gen) and EVOs (6 and 7)... in most
cases EVOs comes out ahead....

I would probably assume that the video is a simple RA, because BM will not simplify on car names, makes and models. Just not in their tradition to do so from my viewing experience. The Spec C RA is so new, I don't even see any reviews in magazines and neither online on it as yet so it can't be possible that BM grabs the first chance to do so. Nevertheless, the car is very distinctive which only comes in white, no spoiler, smaller BBS rims and no fog lights as well.

Why would I choose a STi over an Evolution? Personal choice and preference I would say. The trim finish of a STi is so much better than an Evolution GSR/RS whatever which is more similar like an Integra Type R ... all stripped down to the bare necessities which contributes to alot of fast times. I don't enjoy cars that are so race prepared because that's not what I want the car for. Hell besides, the interior of an Evolution is so identical to a Lancer or Cedia for the VII and that is one of the worse cabin looks, design and feel I can visualize while an STi is finished off with alot more detailed and better product quality and finish.
