You know our car has gone mainstream when...
Here's my read:
Dirk is a jerk. He's shallow, self-centered, and has a low self-esteem.
Brad is a homely, self-centered guy that likes Toni only because she's hot. He doesn't care what her personality is like, and he can't (or won't) take a hint. Besides not being good looking, he's out-of shape, is a dowdy dresser, has no class, and poor interpersonal skills. He's got a temper, and can be very rude and unsympathetic toward others.
Toni is an attractive girl that stays in shape, is working to gain more education, has good taste (except in the guys she dates), has very good interpersonal skills, and her greatest fault is that she is too nice to others. She is letting Dirk walk all over her, and she isn't assertive enough to make it clear to Brad that she doesn't want him even to be her friend.
