I gotta agree w/ DM and rider, it's the way things go. If we come up with a way to stop it, great, if not then just as well. There is a reason bad things happen to good people.

Or it could be human kind's will to NOT let it hit earth

I guess we need to watch "Deep Impact" and "Armageddon" a few more times

This, too, would be God's will.

Being a staunch beleiver in God (seems like I'm in the minority nowadays), my viewpoint is bias. Having said that, I beleive if God decides the asteroid/meteor will or will not hit earth, there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.

"Be, and it is" it's that simple...

If Human kind were able to destroy the asteroid/meteor before it hit earth, then it would be God's will to give human kind the power and knowledge to do so...

This is my opinion, to each there own...

NORAD tracks just about anything in space larger than a soccer ball. The current count is somewhere in the thousands of objects they're tracking. I try not to think about it and worry 'bout what impacts my daily life...like whether or not the bank will approve a loan for me to get an S2000...

So you're saying if we all prayed to your god and not do a damn thing about this, it'll change orbit/trajectory?

Sorry, couldn't help that No offense meant, but we (humans) are capable of so much, and we have hardly discovered our own power.

We are capable of so much but only to the extent that God will allow. Whether the entire world prayed to God or no one in the world ever beleived in God makes no difference to God's master plan and it will all be revealed on the Day of Judgement.

We need God, God does NOT need us.
