Did you know that some spyware is bundled with over 400 different applications?

As mentioned in the article, I recommend AdAware by lavasoft: http://www.lavasoft.de/

I found out that I had the aurate spyware one one of my systems when I saw some network traffic going to an odd port through the firewall. AdAware found it and killed it.

My processor was working itself to death until I cleaned my hard drive. Spyware can really tie up your resources!!

I recommend using Spybot in conjunction with Ad-Aware.
Spybot picks up many things Ad-Aware misses & vice-versa. Just be careful with both not to delete anything pertinent.

I use kazaa and installed adware. When i used it, it detected cydoor. I deleted 4 cydoor files and now kazaa wont work, i got a warning message saying some components are missing. Anyone else experience and know what i can do?

Don't use kazaa, get kazaa-lite. It's kaza without the spyware.

Just to confirm...

I've been using ad-aware now for a month. I initially found over 175 spyware instances on my PC. Ad-aware cleaned them.

Then EVERY time I opened Kazaa 5 more instances came alive. Ad-aware always cleaned them. Since uninstalling Kazaa and installing Kazaa-Lite... no more Spyware.

Thanks for the info. I checked out the sites and put the Lavasoft software on my computer. Also loaded it for some at work. Useful stuff.
