Default Do i have a virus?

Randomly, a window will pop up and will say that i have 1 minute til shut down. Then it will count down and restart the computer. Its very annoying! Someone please help me. Last resort is to reformat my hard drive.

Dunno. Here's a couple of things you can try:

1) download and run Ad-aware http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ . It will search and remove almost all types of spyware.

2) Run a virus scanning program. If you don't have one you can use do an online scan at Trend Micro - http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ .

Good luck.

You have the W32.Blaster.Worm, see http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcen...aster.worm.html for more info... good luck, I had this one last August.

Yep. Blaster. I also got when I rebuilt my PC and hooked up my DSL before my firewall or antivirus software (oops). You get it over the network, not by downloading a file or reading e-mail. Part of getting it fixed (for WinXP) is downloading a MS update.

I'm not sure if i have the worm blast virus. I did control-alt-delete and looked for the worm blaster in my "processes" but couldn't find it...Man i would like to exchange a fist or two with this virus creator.

If you follow that link I posted, there is a removal tool for it... and you definitely have that worm.
