i got 2100, originally should have been 1000 when i did them but the guy i took them to (my parents go to him every year) got me back more claiming school etc since i didnt recieve any financial aid or some bull crap. i dont know, seemed like a lot to me but i am a 20 year old full time single independant living with my parents still haha. money will be put to good use anyway. i claim 0 all the way, of course.

It all depends on the situation.

Married or not, own a house, bonds, interest, itemized deductions...etc.

It's humorous how people think a tax refund is a "bonus". You overpaid your taxes throughout the year with each paycheck withholdings. So you basically gave the gov't an interest free loan for whatever your overpayments were.

Ever wonder why they call it a tax REFUND?

Uncle Sam felt generous and gave me back $1300 of my hard-earned $$. It was a rather nice surprise.
