Your worst fear...

I don't know how you guys can possibly worry about losing traction in this car. I have to try oh so hard if I want to break the back end loose.

Or just floor it and let the engine rev to 6k before sidestepping the clutch. There are lots of ways get the car to slide around, and none of them take much effort.

Nightmares have at times scared me more than anything I've run into while awake, so it somehow seemed an appropriate response to "greatest fear."
It was after I had that dream that I went from being an A+ student in Math at school, to a consistent C student in Math. Weird.
To sum it up, apparently my greatest fear at that time in my life was mathematics. Or home appliances. (Couches too).
[QUOTE=MikeyCB,Nov 20 2007, 04:06 PM]Fair enough! On that note, my worst fear when I was growing up was indicated by a dream I had where I'd climb a spiral mountain and at the top were a pile of home appliances that I had to divide into small pieces.
^ I have been avoiding s2ki meets for many of the same reasons. get a group of people together with fun cars, and a little game of one-up, one-up this, no one-up THIS, NO ONE-UP THIS OH YEAH THATS WHAT I THOUGHT! can really escalate rapidly. throw into the mix that some people can be real hotheads and absolutely MUST "win" or "be the coolest/fastest/craziest" and it's just too great a risk to take, particularly with my girlfriend as just an innocent passenger in the car, bicyclists on the same roads (with no shoulder), and other non-s2k drivers who are just out to enjoy a day on the beach with their family who weren't counting on being terrorized by a dozen sportscars closely passing them on blind curves, etc.
I don't want to say that meet-fear (I don't mean beef/poultry/pork) is one that can be easily dispelled. Get out to the right meet and you'll have the time of your life and meet the salt of the earth. On the other hand, get out to the wrong meet and you'll be pulling over to allow the cops to continue chasing another S2K because he's drunk and all over the road. (Yeah, it can get that bad)
Truth is, I am more impressed by someone who can drive 10/10 perfectly controlled at 8/10ths max speed, as opposed someone who can drive 8/10ths at 10/10 speed. One of those people is putting them self and others in jeopardy and I think you know who that is.
Get down to WTD in April. I've already booked off work and will be nabbing a plane ticket shortly. Wish I could drive there but it's just not feasible. Now if someone wants a passenger to fly in and meet them part way to the Dragon, and ride there with them, please stand up
