Zanardi leaves hospital

Former Formula One driver Alessandro Zanardi was discharged from a Berlin hospital on Tuesday after spending seven weeks there following his horrific accident during a CART race in Lausitz.

Zanardi, who had to have both legs surgically removed as a result of his injuries, flew with his wife and son to Monaco for a short stay at home. Soon he will leave for hometown Bologna, Italy, where he will begin a rehabilitation programme with doctors and learn to walk on prosthetic legs.

Already the 35-year-old is setting goals
