crazy offsets only...
My main reason for doing what i do, is the lip size... I think a car rolling down the road slammed on some deep dish wheels is just sooo sexy. Not everyday you see a slammed car with almost a 6" lip cruising around.

sounds like it will look and perform amazingly. do you know what size tires you are planning to run? i think that a c5 z06 runs a 19x12 in the back with a 325. i am sure that you would have to stretch a bit more compared wheel size to wheel size, so you would run what a 275or 285 by my guess?
That being said the point of stretched tires/low offsets is just for looks. Obviously most of these guys don't care about performance if they are stretching a 225 on a 9.5 inch rim. You also can't get the "GTR" faces in the higher offsets which sucks because cars like the 350z, 240, Supra, etc... can all run the low offsets as well as have a beefy tire to back it up.
IMO a 11 or 12 wide rim with a 285 or 295 would be over kill and heavy as hell i dont see why any one would need bigger than 255 unless your r making over 500 to the rear wheels!!!!!!!! alot of these set up are for looks any way!!!!! PS its really easy to take 1 set of wheels off and put a nother set on
and make some suspension adjustments and go to the track!!!!!

^ very true. and as you said, i wasn't factoring in weight.
and yes a 285 would be over kill on and s2k, but with some of the crazy setups some of you are running, and i know that there are several people around here running in the 500hp range, so i was just curious to see what you all thought about the idea, and why no one has done it yet.
i figured that hijacking this thread for a page made more sense than starting a new one. i was just curious, and what all of you have said makes a lot of sense.
i am looking forward to seeing the progression of wheel setups on s2k's, cause the majority of them look really good. the only thing that i have seen that in my opinion degrades from the look a little is when people start running 5-6 degrees of neg camber. but i seem to be in the minority on that one.

I agree ^^ A 285 or 295 tire would be a bit much... I mean, we are still driving 4-cylinders. And your right, the majority do it for looks. Although i do have nitrous, i dont even waste my time using it unless i put my stockers on and lift it up and adjust the camber.
^^ right like when i had my ap1 with 501whp i was running a 255/40 and it hooked pretty damn good after first gear with a good tire on it! also 255/40 all around is a great track set up IMO on a 17/9+45 all around would be great and all you would ever really need

then lol but i do
