I've got a chance to pick up a set of 17x7.5/8.5 +40 TE's for ~$1,600, they're in pretty good shape but they're flat black and I'd want to refinish them in another color. It seems like a pretty good deal though, what do you guys think?

Also would doing a 255 in the rear be too much for the 8.5?
That's exactly what I've got, they came with a 255 on the rear but I'm going to go back to a 245 to make it fit a but better. I rolled my fenders and relocated the bumper tabs.

I paid $1700 shipped and PayPald for my set with good condition Hankook V12s.
When you say fit better, do you mean the tire on the wheel or clearance with your fenders? I'm running a 245/40 on a 9+45 right now and have plenty of room left so I'd like to go with a 255 but not sure if it's too wide for the 8.5

edit: just noticed the flat center caps aren't included and are $50 each from Rays, good grief!

I don't have the clearance at 255 8.5 +40 that I'd like, the tire is still a few mm out from the fender.

Hey man check out Nengun Performance for the center caps, they're out of Japan so it will take a while to ship but I found a full set of flat center caps in formula silver for $115 plus $10 for shipping. Would have been $175 through Evasive and they didn't even carry formula silver, hope this helps.

Drooling...

We may add the ability to order Volks and some other wheel brands through our store soon. This community needs more 17x10 action

How much camber do you have in the front? It doesn't look like you flared the front fenders very much. Are you worried about compression at full lock? I'm asking because I recently fitted 17x9 +40. Even with semi flared fender and 2.8 degrees of camber, clearance looks questionable at full lock.

-3.1 all around. I'm not really worried about compression at full lock as the only time I'd come close to full lock is during a u-turn. And even then, I don't notice any rubbing. Outside of that, I only really rub on HUGE dips on the freeway.
