Some of these questions have subjective answers, but I'll give it a shot. There is a NFR on 17" LM5T on this page, that should help you get an idea what they will look like. With all respect to Dan who is very helpful, I would never run 9" +38/+25. You can find plenty off the shelf wheels in those sizes and stretched tires would be required.

As for the offset, to simplify things it is the basically where the center line of the wheel is. A 10" +38 and 9" +25 have roughly the same center line but the 10" wheel will have an extra 1/2" (~13mm) width on both the inside to the suspension and outside to the fender.

If *I* were doing 17's, they would be 9.5" +55 and 10.5" +60 with 255/40 front and 275/40 rear. 275/40 isn't an ideal diameter, but people do run it and it's the best compromise available. That should get you about a 2" lip in front and 3" in rear. There really isn't any way to get a bigger lip unless you run lower offsets and stretched tires. If you were planning on running a typical 225/45, 255/40 combo then you can go lower on the offset (say 9"/10" +45) because the lower tire width will give you more space.

This is a 9.5" +55 front and 11" +64 rear:

I picked my sizes to give maximum tire clearance. It's like a stock AP2 wheel with an extra 1.25" on both inside and outside, total 2.5" wider front and rear. Hope some of this helps.

Thanks Nate for the help, that was great info - really appreciate it. I think if I go the CCW route I will just go the standard 18" sizes as 17 doesn't seem as logical :/ Now to decide whether or not I want to do that.

The biggest deciding factor for me was tire availability. Once you go over 255 width, there are simply no good options in 17". Doesn't make much sense to get completely custom widths (11"+) and offsets if there aren't any tires to take advantage of it. I would have been very tempted to go 17" if there was a nice selection of 275/35 or 285/35 street tires. I have had a lot of different 17" setups, decided to go 18" and I don't regret it. My particular wheel (LM5) has a fairly small center and large stepped lip which makes the wheel look smaller than it really is.
That's true. Man I am so torn. Dan and I have been exchanging emails over the past couple days and I'm just not sure what to do. I told him I ideally wanted 17s, and told me that 17x9+38F and 17x9+25R would give me the look I wanted, however I would have to stretch tires. I don't mind minor stretch but some this is just a little too much for me. He told me this RYP s2000 is runing 17x10+38 rears and that it would fit the same as 17x9+25 (can someone explain how?). I asked him I would sacrifice some lip to not run stretched tires.

If 18s look like 17s now I'm afriad if I drop 2K+ on wheels my 17s will look too small. These honestly look like 17s to me...

s2ki, CCW owners and fitment gurus, please help. What sizes wheels/tires I should run with most lip possible and least stretch possible? Really love CCW LM5Ts but this is becoming a headache... first time I'm spending A LOT of money on wheels so I just don't want to mess up.

For the record all my fenders are rolled, relocated tab, and I want to avoid pulling. I want a nice moderately aggressive flush look.
Cool lol that's my RYP S2000

Also the reason the 17x9 +25 would be the same/close to my 17x10 +38 is because of the inch difference. In example when I talked to Dan originally I told him I wanted to run 9 all round but later decided to go 1 inch wider in the rear with a 10, so I had to go up in offset to make up for the 1 inch to try and keep the wheel as close as I could lined up with the fender.

Can I ask what your front specs were as well as tire sizes, camber and fender modification? By the way love the look on your S

Lol thanks man! Of course!

I'm running
17x9 +28 205/40/17 -2.5 camber up front
17x10 +38 235/40/17 -3.2 camber in the rear

Nothing too crazy for the drive I make to work and back and little trips to meets and what not. If you ask me it's MINIMAL stretch and I wouldn't run anymore if i wanted to.

I see, your camber isn't even too much either. Ideally I would want at least a 245 in the front/rear minimum but with that I'm probably going to barely have any lip, right?

Don't forget about all the room on the inside which would be my #1 piece of advice. For example, you could run a 10" +40 front and 11" +50 rear with 225/45, 255/40 tires. It would have the exact same lip size/outside clearance as the above setup with similar tire stretch.

That is what I love about CCW. They can make a wheel for anyone's preference from massive wheel/tire width, hellaflush, or anything in between. The result is you end up with the perfect wheel for YOU, not necessarily anyone else. You are doing your research so I am sure you will be happy with the end result.
