is that being too generous? i thought EE's coming out of undergrad would be looking at 40 to 50 grand starting salary. obviously i could be wrong, since i haven't graduated yet, but those numbers are what my advisor threw out.
you're right, those are very generous numbers especially for Ohio.

either AudiS2kFool aced all his interviews and negotiated liked crazy on his first out of college job....

or he was referencing entry level positions in California....
i think the school janitor starts off at $70k or so....

S2KBDub: What company do you work for? I might be interested.

MpBradyS2K: I think I talked to you at the BW3's meet. I worked for Amtex in Lebanon, OH this past summer and we manufactured carpet for Japanese car companies. Toyota has around 60% of our business. I'm just curious if you've heard of our company... good or bad things. I think I might get an offer from them, but theres nothing wrong with looking around to other companies to see what they have to offer. I worked in the Kaizen department, doing continuous improvement type work.

But I graduate in December, so I guess its time for me to really decide what I want to be doing.
Hey, yea I remember meeting you. Sorry I overlooked your post.
I honestly haven't heard anything about the company, although they have to be very good to provide Toyota with their products. Toyota is going NOWHERE any time soon so as long as Amtex maintains contracts with them they should be able to offer you great job security.

It's never a bad idea to search around though, I graduate in the Spring from Ohio State and I could possibly have 2 offers right now. Decisions decisions.

Where are you going to school again??

Good luck with everything too.

I know Honda is going to be more in the $40-45K range for a new Engineer. And it doesn't matter if you hire into the Ohio or LA facilitiy, the salary is very nearly identical. Sux if you work/live in LA given the housing cost differential. Other costs are somewhat less, but not nearly enough to make up the gap.
