No knocking with clutch depressed
Yea, when I was driving it to the dealership, I would counter the knocking noise by pressing in the clutch and letting the car coast as much as I could and it would stop the knocking.

If there is no knocking when the clutch is depressed and independant of RPM when the clutch is in, it probably not your engine. Clutch disk or pressure plate?

I think that was the symptom when driving it to the dealership. I would clutch in and shift into neutral to stop the noise on my drive to the dealership. But when I started it up this mornign at idle in neutral it was knocking.

BJ, as much as you like to shift it's probably your clutch

If that is the lessor of the cost to fix, then I hope so, but if it were the clutch, I did not notice any change in the transmission when driving it to the dealership.

I am at work now waiting for Honda to call me to find out. Their service department should be opening up now. Its 8am.

I heard back from the dealership, they said I was low on oil and short about 3 quarts of oil. The engine is damaged and they asked if I want to pay for the labor of about 8 hours to tear down the engine and figure out what it is or save on this labor and have them look for a new engine.

I asked him if his manager can phone AHM and find out if Honda can do anything about this issue because from my research it is a problem as I've been driving this car and there was no check engine or oil light indicator on even after the damage.
