Did they look down the cylinders with a boroscope to see if the cylinder liners a OK? If not, OHIOS2K should have one that we might be able to borrow.

The service manager called back and said AHM won't help here because the car was low on oil.

He is going to price some engine parts together for me and see tally up the cost.

So in two months you went 3 quarts low? Take it to Honda Marysville.

Since the motor will need to come out, you might as well upgrade the clutch. If your lucky, you might be able to get by with a crank kit and a rod.

BJ...

Contact Jeff Pister at Honda Marysville. I mentioned your problem to him this afternoon. He may be able to help you out. He may be out this afternoon, but leave him a message.

Scott,

Thanks. I couldn't get a hold Jeff Pister, but I spoke with the assistant manager at Honda Marysville and left him a description of what happened and he said he'd let Jeff know and get back to me.

Man, BJ I am sorry to hear this. I am reading about all this now.
Believe me all this will be in the past and you will smile about it. I've had plenty of issues with my car, some were my own stupidity and some were just issues...Scott said "All will be fixed and you will be fine"

Believe me. You will be fine.

I'd contact Honda Marysville myself as well. Just can't see how the engine oil could be 3 quarts low in 4 months.

All the best to you bro.

did you check your oil right before you brought to the dealer? The engine wouldn't be considered as low in oil as long as there is oil registering on the dip stick. Even if the oil is below the mark, there is still enough engine oil in the sump to provide adequate lubrication. You will be surprised how much margin there is on that dipstick and oil volume. If you have been checking the oil as you said and the engine oil really is THAT LOW, then there is something else mechanically wrong with your valve train that is causing your engine to consume oil. i would put up a fight with the dealer based on the fact you have been doing regular services there.
