Ran no plate for years on my Porsche, then got popped going to Mid-Ohio in Mansfield by a State Trooper. Still haven't put the plate on that car.

Put the plate on the front of the S2000 right from the beginning. it's the wife's car and that's all I need hear is how she got pulled over and I'm a terrible husband for sending her out in a car that's illegal.....

I've had the S for a little over a year now, and I decided to put the front plate on a few weeks ago. With the stories of getting pulled over on Polaris I put the plate on since I drive there for work every day. I went with a Ricks front plate bracket. Didn't care for the plastic factory bracket too much.

I ziptied mine to the grille. First I shaved about 1/8" off the top and bottom, then applied a thin strip of black duct tape around the edge to prevent it from scratching the paint. I've never had a problem with it.

Texas is the latest state to get rid of the front plate. The new state law becomes effective Sept. 1, 2005.

Is it true that all states bordering Ohio require only the rear plate? At least Michigan, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania only require the rear plate.

That is true about all the bordering states. I read a thing in the paper about this and the troopers were saying that it is so much safer for us to have front license plates because it makes the car so much more visible blah blah blah. Whatever...
