... excited to finally have installed a new headunit. Even with the plug and play harnesses, it was way more of a pain then I thought it would be. Main problem was finding a way to mount the Alpine amp under the drive side dash area. Ended up zip tying it and it seems it should be solid enough to autox with. Hoping I don't blow a fuse as wiring the amp to the battery doesn't sound super fun.

Yup I went with the Alpine CDE-164BT with their inline KTP-445A amp and the DCI. It really is nice! I haven't blown a fuse yet, but I'm a bit worried since I didn't run independent power wires to the amp. I'm planning on replacing the speakers eventually too since they distort so much. What headunit did you go with?

Ah nice! Yeah I figured if I was going to spend the time on it, just to try and get a setup that I would be happy with for a long time haha. Did you use the DCI for the Kenwood or just use the Metra adapters?

...not happy. I changed the oil and either didn't tighten the oil filler cap enough, or the gasket is worn out because it came off. I figured it out quickly cause you can smell oil and the car started rattling loudly behind the dash. I cannot find the cap so I bought a new one. The rattle of the old cap is awful. I'm reading that it is a common problem but I can't figure out how to retrieve the old cap. Any advice would be awesome...I'm sure it is sitting on top of the transmission, but how do I get to it? Do I reach down from above or do I have to get it from underneath the car? I've got stereo problems too, but this rattle is priority one.
