I know I save a ton by completely dropping insurance off mine in the winter... sure I'm SOL if something happens, but it also removes the temptation to drive it around when I shouldn't.

Insurance is a bog roll of the dice anyway...

At the very least, just leave comp coverage..that'll keep the usual "known perils" to be protected.. theft, vandalizm, etc.... if you leave just comp coverage, there really shouldn't be any temptation since it's ILLEGAL to drive without liability

We leave just comp on it over the winter and it saves us about $150 a half. So I guess it doesn't save a ton, but we are just use to dropping the full coverage while it hibernates.

I always just keep comp insurance on the car during winter. It cuts my bill by 1/3~1/2 each year.
I've never had a rodent problem - I guess my cat is finally earning her keep around here

My car sits with comp only most of the time... I switch the liability and other coverages when I actually drive the car... usually when it's on the road, I'm driving in pockets of several days...

Speaking of mid-winter thaw... I need to do what Scoots is doing and start working out a plan on getting this crap I piled up over the winter on the car...
