When I stated starting from a roll, I meant starting in 1st gear right at 6000-6500rpms which is where vtec is.

02_S2, don't worry about it at all. I've raced a couple of 5.0 Mustangs. All from a dead stop, and WITHOUT dumping the clutch. No high RPM slips or drops. Just ordinary fast start. (Maybe 3000-4000 slight slip start).

In one, I even waited to see if he was actually going to punch it. He did. He started 1-2 lengths ahead. But, by 2nd gear, I was tearing him apart.

You should be good to go.
