Default New Style Sub box for the S

As some of the cleveland locals know, Ive been a bit absent from the boards, and local gatherings, due to some family health issues. I was very jealous of your great time at mid ohio. Hopefully I'll make it next year.

Anyway, the one thing I have been able to get done with the S this year was my radio upgrade. Jake (imdarkrider) was his normal great self, and worked thru my crazy idea for a sub box, integrated into the tool tray and tool well. So you can keep the tools in their original place, and still have the sub.

I think this may be of interest to those looking for a different solution. The full post of the upgrade is here:

Anyway, hope to see you all soon.

Very nice! Always looking for new ways to get more sound, and still keep what little space we have. Nice install, and choice of HU.

Nice work but I'm not quite sold on the logic of keeping the tool tray. The tools fit fine wrapped in a towel inside the spare tire. They ride there fine and make no noise. I would have been inclined to have utilized the space taken up by the tool tray. That way, you could probably put the sub up in the spare tire area when the spare is on the car the same way you can with the tool tray.

Actually, I had not thougt of it that way. I think that the sub and box will fit in the area vacated by the spare. I will try this out, as well, when I check to see if it will fit in the passenger footwell.
