For any one in the area please know that this member is a scammer. Philthys2000 sold me a set of what were supposed to be NEW 4.44 Motorklasse diff gears. When taken to Science of Speed, it was verified that these gears were 4.57 Richmond gears that had been modified and would NOT work on an S2000. He refuses to take responsibility for selling me a bogus part and sold it to me knowing it was bad. He will not even respond to a pm. If this isn't the definition of shady or scammer then I don't know what is. If anyone can help please send me a pm. It would be greatly appreciated.

I did not have a problem with him.

 

I know Phil.

He has been known to flip parts. Buy stuff low and re-sell it on craigslist of the forums. I've purchased a two items from him.

1. New Honda clutch kit. Phil works at Sunnyside Honda as a detailer, so he was able to get me a good price on a new OEM disc and throwout bearing. I know he marked it up a little, but I had no problem with that.

2. Used OEM shocks with lowering springs for 2002 Civic Si. Phil got these off another car and stated they only had like 50k miles on them. Obviously there is no way to verify that. I didn't pay much for them, but lowering springs on stock shocks never last that long. So, they're showing their age.

The above is fact. The below is hearsay, so form your opinions accordingly.

Now, I heard he leaves out important details on sales pitches. He was selling some 5zingen fncr01 or whatever the popular 5 spoke 5zingens are. People thought they were the forged version and I guess they were the cast version which made them much heavier. Buyer beware?

Then there is just stupid stuff... Phil put a quick release hub on his s2000 when he had it and then has pictures of him driving with the wheel off. He stated that he still had the stock wheel installed at that time, but regardless, it was dumb.


In this situation, if he was unable to verify what gears he had, he should state that. The sale should have been as-Is, unverified, and untested.
