When you say a couple months, does 7 months count as a couple? Not trying to be funny, just trying to put a number behind a couple. My car has been in storage since September. In the past I would change it before I put the car away but last year I didn't. (Which reminds me, I need to go pick up some oil today). Just was wondering if it is still ok if I had done the change prior to putting the car away.

How many miles? Probably not enough to change the oil

That's a whole different debate isn't it? 😊

yeah, I think less than a year is still really on the safe side. Essentially the oils is sealed in the engine and the worse that can happen is some moisture. You have to start the car to do the old change anyway, so most of the moisture will get burnt off on the first start. I got the impression from my conversation with them that if you drove 1-3k a year they wouldn't be concerned with going 2yrs between changes. Not saying I would go that route, oil is relatively cheap, I am just saying they have high regard for most modern oils

Good points.
I still don't have wheels and tires for the summer but I did pull the car out on the "storage wheels" while I cleaned out the garage. I'm itching to get back on the road. Today was nice out. Car got poured on so its officially ready I guess lol

I usually do an oil change every spring as well, I use 10W-30 AMSOIL full synthetic signature series.
