Generally, you drive slow with a large gap to the car in front. There are pix from years past - check the link in the first thread. We did get backed up one year, but you drive slow so everyone can see the driver. Theoretically, it won't happen in the rain but....
I PM'd ya.. thanks for getting all this together!
What Pete said..... it's about making sure the driver that is in your car gets the proper exposure with their fans so going at a pace where you have ample distance away from the car in front of you is important. One year, we did bunch up, but that's because the pace car was going 3mph. Some drivers will talk to you while you are driving. Others will waive to their fans and totally ignore you. Keep in mind, this is minutes before they grid so you can't really blame them if they aren't the most chatty. Dario, btw, is quite chatty and he thanks all the safety workers and officials as you drive around. Very cool guy
Here are some photos from last year:

I'm working with the Hilton @ Polaris to see about getting a possible group rate. Would anyone be interested in staying there? I belive I'll need 10 confirmed reservations for Friday/Saturday to make that happen. I think I have 2 or 3 people right now.

So I spoke to the Manager there for a group rate at the Hilton... it's f$#@%!$ing more than the AAA discount so I said no thanks.
The hotel is by Polaris Parkway (north end of Columbus).. it's not close to the track (30~40 minutes?).. but it's also not in the middle of nowhere like the track is.
I'm organizing a dinner on Friday night there and for those late night people, there are plenty of bars and restaurants in the visinity. Also, for those that want to caravan out on Sunday morning, we usually meet at either the Hilton or Cambria Suites (across the street). I used to stay at Cambria but I've become a Hilton points so I'm leaning towards staying there this time.
