Post apexi vafc2 in my ap1

is it worth putting my vtec controller in and getting it tuned?
ive heard people barely gain anything.
but then again on ap1's they get more gain than ap2s.
the good-ive heard about 10-20 hp gain.
the bad-ive heard 1-5 hp gain.

I'm getting my vafc I tuned today. I'll let you know my results. I've got an AEM V2 CAI, Koyo radiator, mugen thermostat, Hondata IMG, Lightened flywheel, Megan Header, Megan TP, and Megan Single 2.5" exhaust.

Dyno before and after except for CAI.

I think its worth the time to install it. I have the AFC NEO controller on mine and got 10whp. I just have the AEM V2 CAI, TP and Skunk2 Dual Exhuast.
started at 199whp

As promised.

This is the before and after vafc I tune.

Mods:
Koyo Radiator
Mugen Thermostat
AEM V2 CAI
Hondata IMG
Megan Header
Megan Test Pipe
Megan Single 2.5" Exhaust
VAFC I

This is the before dyno from our dyno day in November and after tune dyno.

Before mods:
Koyo Radiator
Mugen Thermostat
Stock Air Box
Hondata IMG
Megan Header
Megan Test Pipe
Megan Single 2.5" Exhaust

The black line is the before.

The only difference between now and then is the CAI. I am not sure if a CAI loses 10 HP but something isn't right. I did make some great midrange gains but lost a little up top. What do you guys think?

Andre at PowerHouse/Abel Racing did a pretty good job tunning it. Rates are $165/hour tune+dyno. I had good experience with those guys.

IMO, VAFC is the best NA mod you can get for your AP1 for the money. Makes a noticable different in my car when I had it. Car felt torquier and a lot easier to get off the line.

However, If I was you, I would save the $ and boost it.

I would use Humble Performance. They did my car for the install and tuning. If you need there number let me know. I'm really good friends with the owner. He will be in okc tonight.
