AutoX
There is an autocross event at the Salem Fairgrounds this Saturday and Sunday
It's a joint event sponsored by the Willamette Motor Club and a club from Washington. All you have to do is show up, pay your $25.00 and sign a waiver form. They also loan helmets (but sometimes limited though you could share one). My AP1 is totally stock and so I run in the Stock Class which registers around 11:00am.
Web site for details is wmclub.org.
I attended the event last month and had a blast
It did wear down my tires a bit but well worth it. Oh, and speaking of tires you'll need at least 5 psi higher than suggested 32psi to prevent rollover wear on the hard turns
even though I never got out of second gear. I'ts not really about pure speed, per se, rather about driving smoothly
I'd love to see other S2Ks there

I heard back from the ORPCA AutoX rep. He sent me this, he took this video of his last run at PIR a few weeks back (video)
Ill tell you though, the PCA club usually make a lot more *open* track. Meaning its not so curvy and such with longer straits.
SCCA's are usually a lot more curvy and less strait

Guys, I *may* have secured 10 walk in spots for S2000's for their next AX on 9-13 (rain or shine, btw... its actually fun to AX on a wet course to really teaches you your handling limits when its wet).

but hold your horses! I have to do one more confirmation with them.
At that time I would schedule a time to slot 10 people in and then build Alts like any other meet around here. We cannot show up with tons of S2000's.
We would also need to maintain up-most respect for their club and event and act in a professional manor. BTW, its nice to be able to walk around and check out all the 911 turbos that show up.
I you are interested, visit their site and read all their rules.

MOST IMPORTANT! You *NEED* a helmet!! I suggest a a car enthusiast that you have one anyways! I bought mine 10 years ago and still have it to this day. I didn't pay any more then like $100 for it.
What to bring: Helmet* (2000 or 2005 SA or M rated); bottled water; and a jacket.
It would be awesome to get some photographers of ours there along with some video of each car running around!

Count me in if you can get a group of us in for the event on 9/13
Two questions: on the motorsport registration site it says non PCA members registation open up two weeks before the event. Would we be able to register sooner?
Second: I was not going to sign up because on motorsport registration it says this event is limited to "approved members." I'd still like to race even thoughI'm not a PCA member.
Thanks for looking into this, and please let me/us know when/if we can register for this race.
