I think anyone that wants to sell something should have to do a dance off with one of the COs.

I also vote for 1a there are a lot of little events that members attend and that should be concidered when giving out the oregon badge.

Its true, when I was at Oregon state last year, it was really hard to get up here for any events or drives.

I think I might have attended one.

Thanks for making a Poll Aaron! I have been away for a week, so it was cool to see this thread.

I am torn between 1a and 2. I understand that 1a keeps more of the status quo, but 2 is more of free for all. I don't want to add another option but instead of options two, how bout you have to be local to sell in our forum? That way you know who you are buying from? I will pm you my vote, but I am not 100% on any of the options, but at least it is a willingness to change, and for me change is good!

I am not sure if I have 3-5 friends that would vouch for me? I used to work at a car stereo shop and the installers used to get the addresses of the clients cars we had just worked on and go "repo" the gear. Come on someone vouch for me

On a serious note, I don't think the FS section should be done away with. I think that just takes away from the honest people that are looking for good local deals, both as sellers and buyers!

Good work CO's for being proactive when there is genuine interest in change (hopefully for the good of the community). Sorry I was just going thru the emoticons and there are some good ones, but I don't see one for 2 cents?

Sadly enough im pretty sure I know this Stereo place mentioned
Ya, when I was in High School, I worked for Performance Autosound (now out of business) and we worked on very high end custom systems, and Stereo King was notorious for this reputation! I had a competition system that took a year to buy and install, and had it stolen from me 3 months after its completion. Worst feeling EVER!! I could never do that to someone else, talk about a pit in your stomach!

I vote for 2 and I'll be PM'ing you with that shortly.

I honestly don't think the theft has gone down due to any badging requirement. The last s2k theft I remember hearing about was the guy getting busted with the cut up silverstone ap1. To me, THAT seems to be a morea realistic coincidence. With the Internet there's plenty of other outlets to sell just about anything.

I feel we're all adults here and should be responsible for ourselves. If you meet up with someone, inspect and decide to purchas a product. Then honestly its on you if for some reason its not what you expected. Good judgement seems the best solution.

I work long hours, typically Monday through sat & get sent out of town for weeks at a time. I would love to make it out to a meet and eventually will, its just super hard for me to plan anything with my work schedule.

I've bought 2 parts cars to fix my personal projects. I used what I needed then stripped the cars down to nothing and completely parted them out. All of my parts had vin #'s with a copy of the title and a bill of sale if needed. Because of this policy my link was deleted. S2ki has one of the busiest forums and I had no issues getting rid of my parts so to me it makes no difference. I feel it would have been of great benefit to the locals guys [ and gals ] that needed misc OEM parts for a decent price.

I vote for number 2

honestly I think the badge requirement will make little impact on theft and the sale of stolen parts. With the avenue of the internet there are much more attractive high activity sites that people will use to hustle stolen car parts on.
