FS Voting results
So the results are in.
We had a pretty serious majority for the 1a option (more than double the second place) - Allow for easier badging.
Second place was option 3 - Remove the FS entirely.
Larry and I want to lay out a few ground rules first to try this out. We'll see how it goes. If it turns out to be a big problem down the road, we're just going to remove the FS for a while. At this point, the FS thread rules are THE SAME as before. You must have a badge to put up a FS post. WTB posts are open to anyone, badged or not
Here is our thoughts on what we are going to put in place for starters. Most of the requirements will be the same to get a badge as before:
1) Member must be an S2000 *owner/co-owner* before being badged. This does not include people buying parts cars to part out. They must be driveable cars and be able to join events.
2) Must reside in the Oregon forum geographic area (Oregon/SW Washington).
3) Member must submit the common info that everyone else has for the CO's private roster (Name, address, phone, etc)
4) Badge retention will remain the same as before. After a significant time of inactivity, a member may be debadged (to keep the web-roster current).
To receive a badge you will need to be an active part of the community (most important). If you don't take part, we dont know you! So dont be shy
.
You will also need to do one of the following:
1) Attend at least 1-2 CO-organized events during the year. These include drives, detail day, or any other future events put on by the COs.
2) Be vouched for by at least 4 currently badged members. This can be accomplished by meeting/attending non-CO events and/or just hanging out with members from time to time and getting to know people within the group.
VOUCH INFO: If you want a badge, you will need to post up requesting one. Make a thread asking for a badge. Once you do, other badged members can post up saying they are willing to vouch for you. Once you receive 4+ positive vouches, we will badge you and then lock the thread.
VOUCHERS - Keep in mind that you are putting your good name out there to vouch for someone. Be sure they are someone you are sure you want to vouch for before just throwing out your OK. Your reputation will be "on the line" as well as theirs when you give them your approval. 99% of the people who will request a badge will be great people, but all it takes is that 1% to ruin it for everyone.
We'll give this a try for a while and see how it goes. Alterations to the requirements may be put in place as needed/desired in the future
Sound good?
Good.

I'll be making the edits to the badge stickies in the coming days.

Is there a WTGAMOJ (WantToGiveAwayMyOldJunk) section? I have a few removed parts that aren't worth money but can't bring myself to throw away
I don't really care what happens with the For Sale section so long as people don't get screwed and the COs don't have extra work. There are some really shitty people in the world, on the selling and the buying side too.
