I don't really blame Larry and Aaron for wanting to cover themselves here, but are there any examples of a CO being sued or blamed for another drivers wrecks or other issues? This all seems a little like unwarranted fear

Like I said, I guess covering your butt is not a bad thing but this just seems WAY out of left field. I have never seen or heard of anything like this happening and can't really see the logic. There are much much larger groups, clubs, crews, or whatever you want to call them, then ours here and they don't have any issues

Lets just say for a second I was a sue happy person. For the Homecoming last year I was rear ended. BackCracker was the person who organized the event so I want to sue him. Exactly how can you legally blame him for someone else rear ending me? Seriously, what would you tell a judge?

One way I can see a CO putting themselves in harms way is to not post the route of the drive and then saying "If you don't keep up and get left behind then you will not know where we are going". Then someone speeds or drives too fast for their comfort level and gets in a wreck. We do not do that here. We very clearly post the route and the destinations and also post that speeding, wreckless driving, etc are not condoned.

Anyways, it probably does not matter much now since I am selling the S and not going to be active on the drives but feelings and thoughts like these make me not want to participate in any of the events here anymore. I do not know how these thoughts/fears came about and like I said above I don't really blame the CO's for being WAY over the top with covering their butts. I just feel that this is not a "club", like you have mentioned, as we do not pay dues or have any type of initiation, and it is rather a group of friends with common interests that get together and have fun. When thoughts of anyone here stabbing anyone else in the back by suing for their own negligence it makes me want to stay away. Maybe this is the intentions of bringing this up. People will shy away and the group will stay small and more easily managed. Or maybe I am just being too extreme in my thoughts and looking into this too much.

Either way all of these warnings, threats, fears, regulations, etc make it less like a group of friends and more like an organized group or club if you ask me. By the CO's posting things like this more and more it seems to take the opposite affect of what I think was the goal posting it. Lets make this look like less of a "club" and more of a "group of friends"

Just my $0.02, well, maybe more like $0.37 worth

Inspiration? YES! Well, actually I am still blown away by the ingenuity of the guy who did the custom Mustang we saw in The Dalles:

3M must be very proud of this display of duct tape! I think this is much more practical than particle board in the northwest!

In one of my previous lives I supplied the fabric for duck tape to one of the major players in the biz, so I know more than I should about it.

Little known fact - the adheasive in Duck tape will not stick if it is wet, and actually will release if it does get wet.

With that said, I wonder how that car will look in a few months once the rain has started?

Ha ha ha ha, somehow I don't think that applies (:

It's amazing - like this person had never heard of trash bags. Probably could have saved another $20.
