Random Talk 2014
I had a similar experience back in 1966. I was commuting from Oklahoma State University, 140 miles home to the Ozarks on my first motor vehicle, a Honda 305 Superhawk. January, and it was bitter cold. My uncle, who flew spotter planes in Korea, had given me an extreme cold weather flying uniform, so I put it over my regular riding gear and took off. If I remember correctly, the temp was about 5F degrees.
It was SO cold, with that 70 mph constant wind. It came through my combat boots which had only two layers of socks underneath, and I was one chilly Cherokee. I knew where there was always a Friday night radar trap, and went through it at a speed that, I hoped, would let me sit in a Highway Patrol car long enough to forestall freezing to death. They were there, nothing happened. My best friend, trying to follow me in his Corvair Corsa, was stopped. When he explained that he was just trying to stay with his friend (me) on a motorcycle ahead, the Highway Patrolman said, "Yeah, that poor SOB came through here at 85 mph a few minutes ago, but we didn't have the heart to stop him. We figured the cold was enough."
That's life.

Random as this may be, I took part in the planning and execution of a nationwide CR meet this past weekend in Southern California at Honda's Racing R&D facilities. It was nice to have some locals down there, Joe (Joealfadog) made it down from Portland and took full advantage of the event, even blistering it up on the track!
twas a fun weekend, if anyone wants to check out out the pics---> https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/forum/279...racer-edition/

Loving the cool air!! - had a fantastic drive along Skyline to the end last evening. Swear the section after Cornelius pass is one of the best roads around. Entire time, even from Cornell to Cornellius, saw one other car heading the same direction, at 6:00 pm!
Car felt fantastic, much smoother and more responsive with the colder air, and with the new exhaust (thanks TF) the sounds are fantastic
