Hello!

Wow apparently some things have changed since the good ole days here on S2ki. I know I have not been on here for quite some time but I remember back in the day Spapdx was CO and things were quite different.

We had some amazing drives that he put together that were not all S's but of course they were mostly... and a maximum amount of cars that can go... whats up with that? And why not roll with a Porsche or Skyline or etc... ( remember looking in my rear view mirror and seeing endless S's along with other incredible cars so far back you can't see the end... IMPRESSIVE and AMAZING!)

You can't post for sale items with out being a "member" in the local forum.. That is really too bad for everything on this site because if a non-member has a bunch of great parts to sell at incredible deals.... guess they will just have to sell them to non S2KI folks and go to Craigslist... Makes NO sense!

I am pretty sure we were patrolled by the police too.... NOT S2KI... In all the drives I have been on (quite a few) I have never seen anything out of hand and last I check S2KI wasn't there blaring lights and sirens behind us...

I could go on further about some other areas I have read in the sticky's but my intent is not to bash this site or should I say this portion of the site... I do not want to dis-respect anyone as I know there is work put into this that is not paid for nor a job in anyway... however that being said I think some people in here are taking things way to seriously as if we were buying Ferrari Enzo's or something and that is really taking away from the intent and certainly the entertainment/fun of this forum.

For those of you who don't know me from the past I have been on here for years... 7 to be exact accept I was under a different name in which I chose to change about 4 or five years. Good to see some of the familiar names on here and hopefully I can catch up with some of you soon!

You havent been around (in the Oregon forum) for how long and your first post in almost 3 years is to complain about the rules while saying "I dont want to disrespect..."

Let me just say, if you hadnt posted who you are, *I* would have had no idea who you are or your relationship to the past PDX forum and would have assumed you're just some new S owner.

If you want to do a drive with no limit on amount of cars or type of cars, put one together. Larry and I are all for the members doing their own events.

 

I believe our COs really do act in the best interests of the group - and I appreciate the boundaries/limits they set. They don't make up "rulz" just for something to do. They respond to situations that impact the group as a whole. Of course not every member will agree with every decision. (It's democracy in action!)

If you haven't experienced the current group, please join in again. Talk to some of us about the way things have changed, why things have changed. You'll have a better perspective to compare it to the old days.

 

It's just a conservative group of people. Just gotta follow the rules that are set, remember it is a privilege to be able to use this site. Just gotta follow the rules to not lose the privilege.

I just figured it is kind of random. I would merge it with the Random Thread.

 

it's not random. It was a discussion (although a pretty ridiculous one in my opinion) on how the oregon forum is now vs then. It was started by someone who has not take part in the forum or group in two and a half years. I'm not really inclined to put much effort into defending the decisions that have been made since his time here (does he even own an S anymore?) since he doesn't come around and take part anymore.

Larry and I aren't interested in censorship or locking threads for no reason. You can keep making sarcastic remarks about it if you want. I will tell you that I would give you a lot more attention to your complaints than I would him, because for all your displeasure towards larry and myself and how horrible we are at running of this place, YOU actually take part and partake in the activities with the group.
