Default Starter replacement

My starter has been making a grinding noise on startup on occasion. It starter last fall and it doesn't do it all the time. I don't think it's in dire need of getting fixed right away but it does annoy me when it happens.
I got some prices today from various places on a replacing it. For a full replacement at a local shop it would be $385. Honda wants $269 for just the starter plus labor to install. And Napa wants $115 for a replacement w/exchange.

I don't know about you, but $115 is looking pretty good. But I think replacing the starter could be a bit of a pain.

So has anyone replaced their starter before and could maybe share some horror or happy stories on how it went?

Thanks.

Bill

You need multiple 3/8 extensions and a wobble joint. They are slightly a pain but not bad to do.
