I read through the thread, Brien, and I'm sorry to hear of your accident. The car took a pretty bad hit. What matters, as several folks have pointed out, is that neither you nor your passenger were hurt. I'm glad to hear that. Cars are just parts, and everything's replaceable. People aren't. It also sounds like you're in a good space about it. Good for you.

I was going to comment on some of the idiotic statements made in the thread, but I suppose everyone saw those for what they were. Truth is, you blew a corner. It happens to all of us. I just find that the cost of mistakes is typically a lot lower in a controlled environment. So when you get your car back together and you're ready, PM me, and I'll help you get started at the racetrack. That's a far better place to get loose. The trees and ditches tend to be a lot further away.

As for the comment that, "The pre-warmed tires would have improved traction on the curve. Turbo could have prevented this accident.", well, I'm sure those are the words of a truly experienced driver. Better PM him for more tips on going really, really fast, provided you do all your driving in a very wet dream.

Peace,
CB

Ha, ha, Thanks Chirs.

Yeah, I fully admitted that it was my indescretion that created the incident, I see it as one of those things, nothing to do about it now but work it out. Neither me nor my friend were very freaked out about it, we've both had similar experiences over the years. I'm sorry it happened but glad it is I that will suffer the most from it and it's just $$ right?

I closed the thread just 'cause I don't need to hear everyone's opinions, after I posted it I realized it probably wasn't the smartest thing to do, I just set myself up for stuff I didn't want to hear. I figured it was just a fact based thread stating what happened, I'm a little disapointed in some peoples responses but I should have expected it.

My wife is on the same page as you, "take it to the track please". You seem like a real persanable guy Chris and I appreciate your offer and WILL take you up on it, unfortunately I think it's going to be a little while before I'm ready.

I'm really hoping it's not totaled, I'm supposed to meet w/the adjuster in the morning for a "meet and discuss" to see what my options will be. Whatever they are I'm not through yet

Take care, talk to you later,

B

I've had a similar reaction when I've posted what I had thought would be helpful information -- almost as a service to the rest of the community -- only to get a bunch of idiotic comments from guys who don't appreciate the intent behind the thread or just want to spout off about things they don't understand. Good for you for posting the thread. Good for for you for locking it when it got out of hand. In any case, pls. be in touch, and I wish you well with the settlement.
